HWX
The Hennepin West eXperience (HWX) is our consortium’s work-based learning program that we designed with the expert support of GPS Education Partners. HWX is designed to connect students to meaningful internships. Students are guided through a one-of-a-kind job preparation and learning experience that results in real work, real pay, and real course credit.
Through our streamlined operations, we are able to collectively advance work-based learning opportunities for students across 10 school districts.
Educator Externship
The Hennepin West Consortium Educator Externship – hosted in partnership with the Minneapolis Regional Chamber – brings career-based learning to life. Through this unique professional development opportunity, secondary and post-secondary educators, guidance counselors, and administrators are immersed in the day-to-day operations of key regional employers. These onsite experiences help create a bridge between business and education. Participants meet industry leaders, learn what is needed to be successful in career pathways, and get real-time insights into industry needs and trends.

Be Bold
Break the Mold
Be Bold Break the Mold is an initiative designed to empower and support women pursuing careers in skilled trades, manufacturing, IT, and other technical fields where they remain underrepresented. This program brings together students, career changers, and industry professionals to break down barriers and build pathways to success.
Women in nontraditional careers face unique challenges—but they also bring unique strengths. Be Bold Break the Mold provides access to education, career resources, and a strong community that fosters growth and confidence. Whether you’re exploring a new career, looking for job opportunities, or seeking connections in your industry, this program offers the support you need to thrive.

College High School Partnership
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities work collaboratively with area high schools to offer students an opportunity to explore careers, earn college credit, and complete a career and technical program before graduating from high school. This collaboration saves students time and money. Visit the website to see which classes are offered at various high schools across the state.
